Spargo house
Spargo House was named in honor of Beverly Spargo and her family. Beverly was a monthly donor to Homestead Community for the prior 11 years, demonstrating her love for children experiencing foster care.
The house was built in the early 1970’s and was stuck there, complete with orange shag carpet and pastel-colored bathtubs! But, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, recreation room, dining room, laundry, kitchen and a beautiful outdoor space, the house was perfect for our mission.
Together with our local community, sponsors, donors and volunteers, the house was transformed into a home where 4-6 foster children now reside with their loving foster family.
JJ House
Through the years, our beautiful JJ House foster family has created a loving, safe home for many precious children in the foster care system. “People say I couldn’t do that (foster care) I’d get to attached. I say if you don’t get attached your doing it wrong. We basically signed up to get our hearts broken over and over again but it’s better for my adult heart to be broken than a kiddo to feel unloved. “ Jeny Jones, JJ House.
