On March 24th, members of the Homestead Community Board attended the Gig Harbor City Council meeting where Mayor Barber signed and presented a proclamation recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Starting next week, Pinwheels for Prevention will be displayed at seven city parks to raise awareness and show support for children and families. You will see these pinwheels at the Civic Center, Soundview Forest Park, Skansie Brothers Park, Crescent Creek Park, Penn Light Fields Park, Cushman Trail Park, and Veterans Memorial Park. The pinwheels are a visual reminder of the importance of creating safe, nurturing environments where all children can thrive.
