Homestead-an organization dedicated to creating homes for children in foster care and those at risk of living on the streets-is on the move. We have teamed up with Next Movement, a group of volunteers doing street outreach and case management.
Together we are setting out to help solve the overwhelming crisis affecting the foster care system-namely that it is 1,000 homes short. Children are being moved from house to house and, in some cases, sent to other states to live. One quarter of kids ‘aging out’ of foster care are homeless. So…
We bought a house. We are putting an outreach vehicle on the street. We are recruiting an army of love. We want to show and tell. Please join us next Thursday, November 17th. From noon to 6 PM stop by and take a tour. From 6PM-7PM, enjoy the benefit with good things to eat and drink and great humans to meet.
Put some more meaning in your life. It happens at our first home located at 1402 S. Grant in Tacoma. And please consider liking our page on Facebook (Homestead Community) or joining our group. Our website and email will be up in a couple of days. Please respond back on Facebook. So much good happening. Will you join us?
